EASY! Cold Brew Coffee

What could be easier than this Cold Brew Coffee Recipe? Mix, refrigerate, drink.

This is SOOOOOO easy to make! And, what a way to enjoy a cool drink on a hot summer afternoon. Add it to the side table on your patio beside your favorite lounge chair. Then sit back and enjoy the adventure of your newest book club reading.

Or, enjoy a frosty cold brew coffee after tending to your garden. Weeding can work up quite a big thirst, and this is a great way to quench it. Add ice and enjoy the coolness moving down your throat.

It’s easy to prepare. Just wash out a pint jar. Fill it with water. Add fresh ground coffee. I love my flavored and decaffeinated vanilla crème brulee coffee beans, ground and added to the warm water. Leave the covered jar in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours. When you’re ready to serve, stir in cream or milk and sweetener to your taste.

This recipe makes two – four servings.

Prepare containers:

Wash and rinse two pint jars. One will be used to brew the coffee in. The other will be your glass to drink from.

Gather up your Ingredients:

2 C Water, warm tap

2 T Coffee, fresh ground, flavored

Milk, optional

Sweetener, optional

2 Coffee Ice Cubes

Note: I use decaffeinated coffee beans, my favorite vanilla crème brulee. Then triple grind it to a powder.

Mix and Brew:

-Mix the water and fresh ground coffee in jar and let set in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

In my cup, I add ice, then add about a half cup of strained cold brewed coffee. Fill the glass jar with more ice or water to fill.

-Fill your ice cube trays with coffee. When using coffee ice cubes you'll avoid diluting your ice coffee as the cubes melt. Yummm!

Note: Strain the coffee through a coffee filter or cheese cloth as you pour it into your glass jar or travel mug.

-Pour into your mug or travel mug.

-Add milk or cream if you like, to your taste.

-Add sweetener, sugar if you like, to your taste.

Enjoy your cold brew with a sandwich or with a chocolate chip cookie as a treat.

Storage:

-I keep it in the refrigerator for up to a week. After that I find it too bitter, even though you can add a little sugar to cut the bitterness if you like.

-Freeze in ice cube trays and add to your cold brew coffee to keep it from getting diluted from regular ice cubes.

This is about the easiest coffee you could ever brew. Just mix the water and ground coffee and refrigerate for 24 hours. Enjoy the coolness with your friends and family. It’s a cool summer drink. “Bake your own Memories!”
